Tell Starbucks: Don't trash our planet with plastic
The Starbucks cup has a dirty secret. Although the coffee chain's hot beverage cups may seem like paper, they're lined with a thin layer of plastic. That means that the cups can't be recycled, sending 4 billion Starbucks to landfills each year.
Back in 2008, Starbucks committed to creating a 100% recyclable cup. A decade later, the company has yet to deliver. We're done waiting for them to take action. That's why we're joining with our partners in the #BreakFreeFromPlastic movement to demand change from Starbucks.
Starbucks executives have told us that they're starting to feel the pressure. By adding your voice, you can help create a huge change that will keep millions of pounds of plastic out of landfills and the environment.
